General Purpose Vibration Sensors
General purpose acelerometers sense vibration commonly found
in most industrial machinery. Application include monitoring of motors,
fans, pumps, moderate speed gearboxes, machine tool spindles and paper
machine rolls.
|
|
Low Frequency Accelerometers
Low Frequency measurement is critical for many industries.
The petrochemical, machine tool, and paper industries use low frequency
for both condition monitoring and process measurement. Other applications
include slow speed agitators, cooling towers, semiconductor and, lithography.
|
High Frequency Accelerometers
High Frequency Accelerometers are used on machinery with
gearmesh or small bearings such as high-speed machine tool spindles and
compressors. These sensors are available with 100mV/g or 10mV/g output
sensitivity.

|
Piezo Velocity Transducers
PVT's are solid state piezoelectric velocity measurement
devices. Since many vibration analysts prefer to examine vibration signals
in terms of velocity to amplify the signal of interest.
|
Triaxial Transducers
Wilcoxon manufacturers a variety of triaxial sensor which consist of three sensing elements within a single housing. These transducers allow for the acquisition of multi-channel data at a single mounting location. Proponents of multi-axial sensors cite the increase speed of data collection, its inherently consistent readings and reduction in wiring for permanent installations.
|
|
High Temperature
These sensors are available with three options for applications
above the normal operating range of industrial accelerometers, greater
than 250F. The FireFETā series, Models 793-6 and 797-6 are used where
extra temp protection is needed.
|
Multi-Function Sensors/Systems
These sensors are designed to provide multiple outputs based on various measurement types. These sensors are provided in three groups: * Acceleration and Temperature * Velocity and Displacement * Acceleration and Displacement

|
Loop Powered Sensors (LPS)
Until recently, the most common method to obtain a 4-20mA signal from a vibration sensor was to connect a separate transmitter or signal conditioner. This expensive and cumbersome pratice has now been replaced by a single industrial sensor . These sensors contain an accelerometer and miniaturized transmitter in one case.
|
Switch/Termination Boxes
A cost effective method for obtaining data from permanently mounted accelerometers is the use of a switch or termination mox. By providing a convenient termination for cable and easy connectivity, these boxes enable safe and fast data collection when using portable data acquisition systems.

Power /Signal Conditioning
Wilcoxon provides Power & Signal Conditioning units to compliment
their entire line of Accleration / Velocity Sensors. These Signal Conditioners
are offered for use with AC, DC and/or Constant Current Diode signals.
|
Cables & Connectors / Mounting & Accessories
Wilcoxon offers a complete line of accessories to provide
a "One Stop Shopping" source for your vibration needs. Cable/Connector
Assemblies can be ordered with standard, pre-cut cable lengths or with
custom cable lengths to match your application.
|
|
In addition to their Cable Assemblies and Connectors, Wilcoxon offers various types of Mounting Hardware. Temporary Mounting can be achieved by using their magnetitic bases or Quick mounts. If a Permanent installation is desired, we can provide Threaded Studs and/or Cementing Pads (you can even order the Epoxy and Silicone Grease from us).
